Even after one and half month, Haryana yet to notify appointment of Haryana Women Commission VC Sonia Aggarwal-HC Advocate
Sonia had taken charge in the month of March last, appointment of 5 members in the Commission is pending till date.

Chandigarh, May 4, 2024: Hemant Kumar, Advocate in Punjab and Haryana High Court claimed that even after one and a half months, Haryana government is yet to issue notification regarding the appointment of Haryana Women Commission Vice-Chairperson Sonia Aggarwal.
"In the middle of March, Sonia Aggarwal, resident of Kharkhoda area of Sonipat district, was appointed the Vice-Chairperson of Haryana State Women Commission. In the last week of the same month, she took charge and immediately became active. After that, the news of her visits to many women police stations and various jails of the state has been prominently reported in the media in the last month. It is to be noted that during the enforcement of Model Code of Conduct no person in any statutory post (like the Women's Commission) Due to unavoidable reasons, the appointment of an officer can be done only with the approval of the Election Commission.," said Hemant Kumar.
Advocate Hemant Kumar in Punjab and Haryana High Court said that even in the month of March, in relation to Sonia Aggarwal as the Vice-Chairperson of the Women's Commission.
"Probably before the implementation of the code of conduct, the order may have been issued by the Women and Child Development Department, which is not publicly available, but till date the Gazette Notification regarding their appointment has not been published in the Official Gazette of the State Government, which although in the State of Haryana It is necessary as per Section 3 of the Women's Commission Act, 2012. Not only this, the name of Sonia Agarwal as the current Vice-Chairperson and information about the commencement of her tenure on this post has not been uploaded on the official website of Haryana Women Commission," he added.
